A unit of work that incorporates the theme My Country, My Place. Students will focus on Australia and its Indigenous people and their place within it. This unit of work will run over 10 weeks. During the unit students will have the opportunity to learn and build on their knowledge of Australia’s Indigenous people’s culture, customs and special places and how we can look after these special places. Students will look at special places around their town and area and distinguish natural and man-made features. An opportunity to get to know some of the local Indigenous people and their tribe name and listen to stories of how Indigenous people connect to the land, animals and environment.
